Abstract

Oxygen is essential for respiration and metabolism in any animal. Oxygen levels below a critical level reduce food intake and the fish will not be able to absorb the food they consume, and may increase fish stress, increase swimming, respiration and nutritional activity, fish growth and consequent immunity, diseases are greatly reduced and cause fish death. By increasing the amount of dissolved oxygen in the appropriate range, there is a significant difference in the process of weight gain of fish. In the beluga with an average weight of 250-300 g and 1-1.2 kg, in a two-month rearing period with 9-10 mg/l, the percentage of weight gain can be doubled and quadrupled, respectively. Also, high oxygen breeding environment will improve the health and condition of gill and spleen tissues and the overall physiological function of beluga. Therefore, due to the long breeding period of farmed beluga, the use of high levels of oxygen in the long rearing period can create significant economic effects and thus be effective in the prosperity of the sturgeon aquaculture industry in the country.
